Motor Bobbin Meets Needs for Automated Assembly, Wide Use

Description
Custom-designed bobbin molded from Rynite® PET thermoplastic polyester resin serves in fractional horsepower, two-pole, shaded-pole motors with a stack height of 1.5 inch (38 mm). Fasco currently supplies a Class B blower motor using the bobbin to a manufacturer of portable space heaters. The bobbin is available to meet Fasco's customers' needs in similar motors for furnaces, pumps, dryers and other equipment.

Automated assembly. Astute design, coupled with the strength of Rynite®, accommodates automated winding and insertion of insulation-displacement terminating lugs.

Built-in standards compliance. Fasco saved on testing and development costs and time with the use of a pretested, preapproved UL® 1446 insulation system using Rynite®. The same bobbin can serve Class B, F, H and N insulation systems with ratings up to 200°C.

Consistent quality, productivity. The easy molding and lot-to-lot uniformity of Rynite® help maintain high quality and productivity.

Materials Used
DuPont Rynite® PET fills needs for excellent dielectric and mechanical properties, high-temperature resistance, UL94 V-0 and 5-V flammability performance, recognition in a range of UL 1446 insulation systems and consistent molding quality and productivity.
